By generating a monitoring key, using the PingDog API, or accessing any feature of the PingDog service (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
PingDog is an uptime monitoring service that periodically checks internet-accessible endpoints from geographically distributed locations and reports the results. The Service includes HTTP/HTTPS, TCP, DNS, SSL, RPC health, A2A agent, and MCP server check types. Alerting, public status pages, and an API for programmatic monitor management are included features.
The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. PingDog does not warrant that all outages will be detected or that all alerts will be delivered.
The Service is available to individuals and entities worldwide unless prohibited by applicable law. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
PingDog uses a "key-as-identity" model. Your monitoring key (beginning with pdk_) is your sole credential. There is no username, password, or email address associated with your account. All monitors, results, and billing status are associated with the cryptographic hash of your key.
Loss of your key means loss of access to your monitors, history, and subscription. PingDog has no mechanism to recover a lost key. It is your sole responsibility to store your key securely.
Your key grants full access to all monitors and account actions associated with it. You are responsible for keeping your key confidential. PingDog will treat any request made with a valid key as authorized. If you believe your key has been compromised, you should immediately delete all monitors under that key and generate a new one.
PingDog offers a free tier with 3 monitors, 5-minute check intervals, and checks from 2 geographic locations. The free tier is provided without payment and without obligation. PingDog reserves the right to modify, restrict, or discontinue the free tier at any time with 30 days notice posted on the website.
PingDog offers paid tiers (Pro and Business) with increased monitor limits, shorter check intervals, and more geographic locations. Tier limits are enforced at the API level. Attempts to exceed tier limits will be rejected. Tier features and pricing may change with 30 days advance notice.
Paid tiers are billed monthly via a USDC or USDT token approval on a supported blockchain network. By approving the billing contract, you authorize PingDog to pull the applicable subscription amount from your wallet once per month. You remain in control of your funds at all times — funds are not transferred until PingDog initiates a pull.
The first month's subscription is pulled upon approval. Subsequent pulls occur on approximately the same day each month. PingDog does not store your private keys or wallet credentials. Billing disputes must be reported within 30 days of the transaction.
You may cancel your paid subscription at any time by revoking the USDC or USDT approval for the PingDog billing contract in your wallet. Upon revocation, your key reverts to the free tier immediately. No refunds are provided for partial months already pulled. No cancellation forms, emails, or support tickets are required — wallet revocation is the sole cancellation mechanism.
You may use PingDog to monitor endpoints that you own, operate, or have explicit permission to monitor. You may not use PingDog to:
PingDog reserves the right to terminate access for violation of this policy without notice and without refund.
You represent that you have the right to monitor all endpoints you configure. Monitoring generates HTTP requests, TCP connections, DNS lookups, TLS handshakes, WebSocket connections, and JSON-RPC calls to the configured target. You are responsible for ensuring that such traffic is permitted by the target's operators and by applicable law.
PingDog operates on a best-effort basis. Check execution may be delayed, skipped, or fail due to: network conditions, infrastructure outages, scheduled maintenance, software bugs, or other factors outside PingDog's control. PingDog does not guarantee that every check interval will be met or that every down event will generate an alert.
PingDog does not provide a Service Level Agreement (SLA) for any tier. No uptime guarantee is made for the monitoring infrastructure, the API, the alerting system, or the status page. The Service is provided "as is." If uptime guarantees are required for your use case, PingDog may not be appropriate.
Alerts are delivered via webhook HTTP POST or Telegram message. PingDog will make a reasonable effort to deliver alerts but does not guarantee delivery. PingDog is not liable for consequences arising from missed, delayed, or incorrect alerts.
Each account may publish a public status page accessible via a URL containing the account's key hash. You are responsible for the content displayed on your status page. By marking a monitor as public, you consent to its name, type, status, and uptime statistics being displayed to anyone with the status page URL.
Check results are retained for 30 days on the free tier, 90 days on Pro, and 1 year on Business. Data in excess of the applicable retention window may be purged without notice. PingDog is not responsible for data loss resulting from key loss, account inactivity, or tier downgrade.
PingDog collects minimal data: configured monitor URLs, check results, and alert configuration. PingDog does not collect email addresses, names, or personally identifiable information unless you include such information in monitor names or webhook URLs. PingDog does not sell data to third parties.
The PingDog name, logo, software, and documentation are the exclusive property of the operator. No license to use the PingDog name or brand is granted. Check results data generated from your monitors is your data. PingDog retains the right to use aggregated, anonymized statistics for operational purposes.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. PINGDOG DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF PINGDOG AND ITS OPERATORS FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE DOLLAR ($1.00 USD). IN NO EVENT SHALL PINGDOG BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL.
This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability and survives any failure of essential purpose.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PingDog and its operators from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right, or (d) endpoints you configure that you do not have permission to monitor.
PingDog reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. PingDog will provide reasonable notice (typically 30 days) for material changes that adversely affect paid users. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
You may stop using the Service at any time. PingDog may terminate or suspend your access without notice for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, illegal activity, or any other reason at PingDog's sole discretion. Upon termination, all data associated with your key may be deleted. Subscriptions terminated for cause are not eligible for refund.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Sheridan County, Wyoming. You waive any right to a jury trial.
ALL DISPUTES MUST BE BROUGHT IN YOUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY. YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION AGAINST PINGDOG.
The Service is operated by Mesa Operations LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and PingDog with respect to the Service. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. The failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver.
